Cable Only Looks Secure November 30, 2008 A. Hatch (Culver City, CA USA) 11/28/08 - Buyer Beware: I had two bicycles stolen (over $1400 value) from my garage when a thief cut through a related product OnGuard Akita 5080 Bicycle Security Cable (Lock Not Included) in one slice. Looks like they used a chain cutter. Unless you're using this as a theft deterrent or for low value items, don't fool yourself that you're buying security.
No problems so far! November 10, 2008 Andrea Thompson I've had this lock for over a month now and overall, it's been a good experience. I haven't had any of the key problems mentioned by some other reviewers (I did notice that the key will not turn smoothly if the lock is loose - so, if you want your key to turn well, make sure that the bar and the U are flush and fully engaged.) The lock is definitely pretty heavy-duty, and excellent for that old trick of "park next to a nicer bike with a cable lock." So far I've not had any problems leaving my bike downtown in a fairly thief-heavy town (Santa Cruz, CA). The reason I gave four stars, not five, is that the thing is damn heavy. And, if you're like me and your bike is teeny because you're teeny - well, there's nowhere to mount the holder on your bike, because it WILL interfere with your movement. I can't even fit in on the seatpost! So, to other small bicyclists, be warned: This thing is not so comfy to carry in a backpack.
Bulldog U-Lock With Cable November 2, 2008 K. Heggli I have been using this lock for several weeks on my bike. It works great. The lock attaches to the bike so you don't have to carry it when you are riding it. It arrived quickly in the mail.
Great Lock October 18, 2008 Duy Nguyen Good Lock, Took a bit to come but is a strong dependable lock so far.
Great Product, Without Any Flaws October 18, 2008 pda&gps user (Palo Alto, CA USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
First of all, I don't agree with the ones telling that the keys are inappropriate. I have no problem with the keys. You should try some 'special' tricks for breaking the key! Everything is perfect with this u-lock. It's long enough to provide you enough space for locking your bike's frame and tire to a bike rack at the same time. This provides much more security. It's short enough to prevent thiefs to comfortably work on. It's thick enough to prevent thiefs to break or cut. The locking system is reliable and durable enough to use for many years. It also has a protection coverage to prevent dust, humid and stain inside the locking system. Last but not the least: This product offers you an extra security cable with an incredible price of $30!!! Do not hesitate buying this great u-lock. You will never regret.
