Makes it easy to slide chairs and other furniture October 14, 2009 Wayne A. Seltzer (Boulder, CO USA) I bought these to replace the pads that I installed in the past on a set of dining room chairs.
I'm using them on ceramic tiles with fairly wide, rough grout, so they tend to wear out in a year or so.
I can pop off the worn out sliders and snap on the replacements. (I don't use the mounting hardware, as
I had already installed those.)
The included nails are not the best way to attach the sliders to chair legs. Vibration
tends to loosen them. And, on a narrow chair leg, it's important to drill a pilot hole
to prevent splitting.
Instead of the nails, I use small wood screws and enlarged the hole in the mounting hardware.
Works as described August 31, 2009 Frank Goodman (Melrose Park, IL) I have had a set on a kitchen set for more than 7 years, they finally need replacement. I used larger ones on the table and other heavy furniture. The work great on tile and wood floors. It was easy to pop off the original plastic glides and replace with these. It takes a little effort to get these on the rubber mounting piece which is nailed to the furniture leg but I found that rotating them while applying some down pressure gets them on quickly. When replacing, use a flat screwdriver to get under the rubber mounting piece and lift gently. They come off easily. I plan to continue using these. I wish Amazon sold these directly I could take advantage of Prime shipping.
These work, unlike the stick on ones April 6, 2009 K. Rust These do what they claim. What I haven't decided is whether these are better than Magic Sliders 45369 Silent Chair Glide. I bought some of each and they both work fine. Perhaps these are little smoother, but will they last as long?
Love these! February 25, 2009 Diana Gildner (USA) I bought the stick on ones and after a few months they started coming off. Then I bought the 2-part ones # 08221. I did drill a pilot hole before putting the nail in. The directions say to flex the cap a few times before putting it on. Then put on over one lip at a time. I didn't and no way could I put in on. Then I read the directions and followed them. With my 65 year-old grandmother's hands with arthritis this took some time, but they went on easily after that. My husband says he has to be careful how fast he pushes back from the table or he will fly right out the window.
Magic Sliders October 15, 2008 J. Paul (Minnesota) These little sliders work great. This is the second time I'm purchasing. I installed them on our kitchen chairs. They work great on the vinyl floors and hardwood.
