An Excellent Lock October 26, 2008 Robert W. Jacobs, Jr. This is a well built deadbolt lock. Built strong; and easy to use. One thing to note if you are installing in a 1 3/8 inch door; or a door with an existing bore for the latch -- The latch requires a 1 inch bore. The bypass key is a must if you are locking an area where you have no other ingress. Requires a 9V battery which is hidden under the inside cover. The battery is included! Can be programmed to lock by pressing the top button and turning the exterior thumb twist; or it can be set to lock only when a code is entered. The inside cover plate screws into a baseplate; no extra holes in the door are required. Fresh install requires a 2 1/16 and a 1 inch hole-saw. Keypad lights -- a real plus in low light conditions.
Excellent alternative to traditional keyed deadbolt October 15, 2008 H. Wu (San Francisco, CA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Decided to convert a Schlage key deadbolt to this design based on desire for 1.) sticking with Schlage to be consistnet with keysets in the rest of the house 2.)logic of the design, 3.)ease of installation. We were very pleased with the product. It is well-constructed, and the key backup plus manual flip feature makes the battery failure problem a non-issue. So, it is a winner on #1 and #2. We decided to call in a professional locksmith with whom we have done much business with over the years to do the installation, though. It took him about 25 minutes, but went fast because he could use the same hole and offsets. He was also happy with the design and construction. Highly recommended. We will be installing more units in other locations.
Very good deadbolt October 5, 2008 triman (San Jose, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Very easy to install and use. Feels rock solid, ie. no cheap plastic. I would strongly recommend this product. I have this installed on my front door, never have to worry about where to stash that key before my morning runs. In fact I like it so much I am thinking of having one in our garage entry as well.
great keyless option, but key is not smooth August 29, 2008 H. P. Tran (Orange County, CA USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Great keyless entry option. Installation is a breeze (just make sure it is in the un-protrude/unlock position during install). I like that it's a manual turn instead of motorized. However, it's difficult to remove the key if you ever need to use key to lock/unlock (insert is ok). But then, hopefully I never need to use key. Programming sequence is easy, but sometimes I have to do it more than once to get it working.
INSTALLATION August 27, 2008 Donald S. Barcan (Long Valley, NJ) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The lock instructions and assembly were seamless and required less than 15 minutes to install and program. After a month of daily use, the lock is functioning flawlessly.
