DO NOT BUY LASKO PRODUCTS!I HAD THIS MODEL FOR LITTLE LESS THAN 3 YEARS, USED IT IN LIVING ROOM DURING WINTER MONTHS ONLY. IN JAN 2010,THE UNIT STOPPED AND I GOT BURNING SMELL.
WHEN CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE AT LASKO, THEY DO NOT FIX THIS, DO NOT HAVE PARTS FOR THIS. THERE IS A SPECIAL PART FOR RUNNING THE FAN AND THEY LASKO DOES NOT CARRY THEM. THE LADY AT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE SAID-THROW IT AWAY, BUY NEW! I DO NOT KNOW HOW MANY CUSTOMERS HAVE THESE LASKO PRODUCTS AND HOW LONG THEY HAVE WORKED, BUT I WILL NEVER BUY LASKO AGAIN AND NOBODY SHOULD!
SHAME ON SUCH A MANUFACTURER!

I bought this unit on Jan 9th,the unit worked well until it stopped working entirely. I called the Lasko customer service and to make a long story short they are sending me a new one within 7-14 days. The short time I had of usage I can say it worked well, heating my selected room efficiently and quietly. The only reason I'm giving it a 3 star rating is because it failed me. I hope this helps in making a decision.

AFTER HOURS OF LOOKING OF SURFING THE INTERNET FOR THE PERFECT HEATER FOR MY JUNIOR MASTER SUITE, I CAME ACROSS THIS HEATER! THE PRICE AMAZON OFFERED IT FOR WAS PERFECT! IT HEATS UP MY HUGE BEDROOM INSTANTLY! IT CAME WITH A REMOTE, IT OSCILLATES, IT IS TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED, AND IT HAS A TIMER! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! THANK YOU AMAZON FOR YOUR REASONABLE PRICES!
Not what I expected March 4, 2010

I've purchased several Lasko heaters in the past and this didn't meet my expectations.
1. Make sure you verify there is a "Digital" readout on the temp. settings! This one has a bar that isn't very visible.
2. To lower the temp., you have to use the remote. (Unless you want to step thru all the higher settings until the unit finally reverts back to the lower settings.
3. The temp. settings are in increments of 5, so no setting the unit at anything else. (Example: 70 or 75 w/no possibility of setting at 72)
Other than the above, unit works great!

These heaters are very nice if used at a distance of a few feet, but I can't see how they could possibly warm up even a small room. With our cold Winter, this year in Florida, the C/A [and heat!] breakers keep blowing and one of these heaters make my small bathroom bearable and also the area right next to my computer----but no space larger.
