If I used a really nice briefcase, I would be worried that the sharp edges would tear it up. This SOLO is perfect for me. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the wheels on the locks are plastic covered to look like metal, and I broke one when taking all the packing ties off of it. I had to drill out the wheel and remove it, then manually turn the rod so that the lock will open. This isn't really a problem for me - if I want to lock it, I can use the other lock. If security is important to you, though, don't get this - go for a real metal lock. Other than that, this briefcase is perfect. It is really nice looking, and has compartments for everything I need and then some.
