Just what I needed, a hard to find replacement item November 20, 2009 Jersey Guy (South Carolina) Our front door's weather stripping had taken a beating over the last 10 years and desperately needed replacing. Cold air and other weather was seeping through since the old seal had broken apart and the magnet. I ordered this product after carefully scouring the net and local hardware stores. Apparently this is a hard to find item! With the excellent description and cross angle reference of the door seal design, I was able to match up my existing seal with this one. I ordered it, cut it to fit and it has been working perfectly ever since. Definitely worth every penny!
No more drafts November 15, 2009 Wine lover This product was easy to install, and is soo much better than the surface mounted weatherstripping available at the home centers.
Doesn't fit - specifications make no sense November 1, 2009 C. VanDoren (Albany NY) The fins on this weatherstripping slide right into the kerf in my stop molding without holding on at all, it pulls right out with no effort at all. You need a pretty narrow kerf to hold this in. My kerf is 1/4" wide. Strangely the product info says "For door frames with kerfs of at least 3/8-inch" which is just bizarre. They seem to be referring to the gap between the door and the stop molding. The magnet seemed pretty strong so it might work well for you if you have a thinner kerf. BTW this seems to be the same product as the thermwell Frost King products sold at the big boxes and hardware stores.
Paif for magnetic, didn't get what I paid for, 2, top and lock side magnetic, hinge side unacceptable, compression type July 18, 2009 Bruce Alan Johnson 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
poor, it made me put one star bvefore it would accept my review, waste of a star.
steel door weatherstrip May 7, 2009 bonna bing Just like the strip that came on the door. The magnet isnt as strong, they really need to improve that. I had to put some foam stripping on so the door would have a good seal otherwise the magnet wouldnt grab the door.
