The base plate's trapezoidal shape and the 'Lexan' risers provide a rock-solid, stable base for serious typists. 'Furniture friendly' rubber feet really grab any surface. The PodiumPad increases the airspace under the computer as well as elevating the back. The six small rubber pads on the bottom of the PodiumPad really grip... a great tool for air travelers whose laptops slip off tray tables. MacBook fits perfectly on it. Very comfortable and very adjustable. Much more comfortable on the wrists and keeps my machine from overheating!

I liked this product so much I bought two of these.
While perhaps not as fancy-looking as some of the other notebook stands available, this one is exponentially more practical. By lifting the machine off the table without touching much of the bottom, the machine stays remarkably cool, thus increasing the notebook's performance.
Additionally, the stand swivels quite nicely -- another feature not offered by competitive products.
That said, I was a bit dismayed when the pegs at the bottom of the stand popped off when I slid it slightly across the table. They were easy to stick back on, but the fact that they fell off to begin with is still disappointing. This happened with both stands I purchased, so it seems its an inherent problem with the product. I suppose at some point I should buy some Crazy Glue to permanently solve the problem.
Overall, I recommend the product, but suggest an additional purchase of Crazy Glue or similar highly adhesive substance.

Such a simple idea and such a good product. Its a well made sturdy product that does everything the description says. My lap top keeps cool now and the beauty of that is I can work from bed -a real bonus I would think, for the disabled. The swivel platform makes it easy to show others what I am working on. The weight is negligible so I can travel abroad with the podium and my lap top in my hand luggage. I cannot recommend this Podium CoolPad highly enough. Do yourself a favour - BUY ONE!

For those of you who are on the fence about buying this product because you're concerned that your laptop won't fit on the stand then don't worry. IT WILL! I use a 17" Mac Book Pro and it works perfectly. It doesn't slip and it won't take up any more space on your desk then what your lap top already does. But for all of you who aren't mac users don't worry it will work with any other laptop on the market. My mother has a 17" Toshiba that she bought just a month ago and it works perfectly for her as well.
Another plus is that it travels very well too. I just break it down, slip it into my laptop case and I'm gone. The only thing I have a problem with is I imagine that some people could lose the detachable pegs if they travel a lot. I have not lost one yet, but I have a special designated pocket for my pieces so that I know where they are at all times. Oh yeah, it swivels too if that's important to you and it does it well and smoothly.
Bottom line, don't worry about the fit it will work. And even though I didn't really mention it it does do a good job of cooling my Mac Book Pro with out a noisy fan. I'm not afraid to work on it for long periods of time now. Great product and I would recommend it to all of my friends.
