Product Description This Evaporative Air Cooler, Humidifier, and Fan is versatile, lightweight and economical. The Cooler easily rolls from room to room for use anywhere in your house or office. This Air Cooler shoots a stream of air with oscillating louvers, to evenly distribute refreshing cool air. Can also be used as a fan or humidifier if temperature is not an issue. - plus get the air cleaning benefits of the ionic air purifier. The remote control allows you to easily change settings. The Air Cooler works by endothermic reaction (a reaction that consumes heat), so this evaporative Air Cooler sucks air through a wick saturated with water. As the air flows through the wick, some of the water evaporates into the air, consuming the heat that was in the air. An air stream is then blown out the front of the unit and is considerably cooler than the current room temperature! This is not an air conditioner and therefore uses much less energy. Note: The unit works well in dry climates; not very effective in areas with high humidity as the unit utilizes water to cool. Features and Functions: With remote control Computer controlled airflows Oxygen bar with negative ions Whisper quiet motor Water curtain cyclic system for effective cooling Auto swing louvers 10L water tank capacity Three air speeds: H / M / L Timer: from 0.5 ~ 7.5 h

HORRIBLE!!!! DO NOT BUY!!! August 30, 2009 Natalia Keaton (Glendale, Ca) We bought one of these (Not from Amazon) and it is as bad and worse as all these reviews say. The water is not contained in a tank it is just poured directly into the base of the unit and ours had a hairline crack where the foot-caster was attached. So we returned it for another. We opened it up at the store and inspected it - looked fine. We got home and filled it with water and it started leaking all over the floor from two separate new hairline cracks. We will be returning this second one today and looking for something entirely different.
Not a bad Swamper July 30, 2009 Daniel Ellis (Saginaw, TX United States) This is a handy little product. Especially if you live in the southern US. It would be great if it had a dehumidifier. Other than that it is a pretty good machine.
Ineffective cooler - SPT SF-610 July 9, 2009 SubRosa (Fresno, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased the SPT SF-610 from a local retailer on 1 July 2009 and returned it on 5 July.
This item has many nice features but it is not a good cooler.
I used it at different times of the day with the temperature ranging between 75°F and 106°F; it did not offer any cooling effect when the temperature was over 85°.
The motor is quiet but the fan running at medium or high is rather noisy.
great product great price April 20, 2009 Amy L. Brautigam (Austin, Tx USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this (almost 2 years ago now) to use for my bedroom which never cools well in the Texas heat. You do need to use ice if you want it to cool the room, adding water only just doesn't do enough to combat the heat. But I run it at night and in the morning I can tell a noticable difference in the temp when i leave the bedroom. For the price you really can't beat it. If you can afford to spend $500 on a portable air conditioner thats great, for the rest of us this is a great option :)
Pretty good cooler December 7, 2008 Sarah Spencer If you cant afford an air conditioner then this is a much cheaper way of going. Its definitely not going to do the same job but if you add cold water from the fridge then it does feel cooler than a normal fan.
