I purchased this for my wife, because she is always cold when we are in the basement on our computers. She wanted a heater, and being able to put this under her desk meant I didnt have to have the room hot. After she opened it at Christmas, I put it under her desk (I bought the stand and the switch kit to make it easyer), and she said "I dont feel anything, I want a real heater". I went and looked at it, and the front of the unit was warm to the touch, but was not putting out any hear. So I bought her a heater and now when she is down here with me, the room is hot. I thought maybe the thing needed to be ran a bit to get it going, so I put it up and ran it off and on at my office, where my boss likes to run the ac all year. I would leave it on all day under my desk, and never once noticed that it was working. I would say if you want to get more heat than this unit, go buy yourself a small desk lamp, and a 50 watt light bulb, and you will get more heat on your legs than this. The only draw back from that, is this unit only got warm on one side, so it wouldnt give heat on the wall, and it wouldnt break glass if you kick it. I hope this helps you to not waste your money, becasue I did.
