These are GREAT November 13, 2009 Victoria Cardell (Pa) I searched for stair treads because my overzealous Pup had slipped on the steps several times. When I went to the local home improvement store the selection was disappointing. I needed a tread that covered more than half the step. My husband installed these treads using carpet tape and not only are they functional but they're nice to look at as well.
Very Happy November 4, 2009 Kimber Hall (Galveston, TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am very happy with my purchase. They look just like the picture. They are a little thin and you do need to use rug gripper tape to keep them in place, but other than that, they are great. The price is awesome, too. I was able to protect 17 stairs for under $65, and I have extras in case I need them. It pays to shop around. Stair treads can be VERY expensive-these are great!!! Thanx!
color is not what it says it is October 5, 2009 LH (USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It says Ivory - but I actually have yellowish not ivory or shade of being an ivory
exactly what I was looking for September 29, 2009 J. Reid 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I wanted stair treads that were thin, not thick like carpeting. Just something to go on my wooden stairs to help prevent slips. I looked at the ones at the local home improvement store - not only were they very thick (thickness of an oriental rug), they were $12.95 each tread! It would have cost me $181 for stair treads. I only needed 2 boxes of these, so it cost me about $30. When I pulled them out of the box (I ordered the ivory), the red accent colors were much brighter than I expected based on the picture (I was in a very sunny room and the sun was shining on the carpet), but as soon as I put them on the stairs (no bright sun shining on the stairs), the colors muted immediately and look just like the picture. They also seem to grip my stairs just fine - I don't have any floor polish on the stairs. If I need to I can use tape or tacks, but right now they grip just fine.
If you want thick treads, these are not the ones for you. I wanted the thin treads, so these are perfect for me, and I can't complain about the price. I will soon order some more for my basement steps...
very disappointed April 12, 2009 J. Rivera (Chicago, IL) 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
I ordered these based on the other reviews and when they arrived yesterday I was shocked. They are not only cheap but extremely ugly. The material is so thin and flimsy, carpet squares at the dollar store are at least twice as thick. If you think of the cheapest, thinnest, least absorbent bath mat you can think of -- and then make is ugly on top of it -- you would have this "carpet."
