Basic thermostat November 18, 2009 Carmine J. Cannizzaro (NY) This is a simple to use and accurate temperature control device. Clear display, easy to install.
Works and real simple November 12, 2009 Big Dawg (California) Purchased this to replace a very old thermostat that didn't have an off button. Heater kicked on when no one was home and temp got under 55 degrees (CA weather, doesn't happen often). I chose this one over the cheaper model because of the clock feature, not for scheduling purpose, just to be able to see the time. It's nice, however the display doesn't have back lighting (not in description, so I'm not complaining, just worth mentioning) so it's tough to read. If I had known that, I would have gotten the basic model.
This thermostat does the job well, installation took 10 mins and heater was on!
Just What I Needed November 5, 2009 Rudolph Johnson (YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO USA) This product works just fine for my application (single family home, heating only although it will work w/central air); it was a snap to install (under 30mins. including removing old thermostat) and very easy to program. The only downside I found was the display isn't back-lit as it appears to be in the illustration, bummer! All said, you can't beat this product unless you find it on sale a week after it arrives just as I did.
Great Upgrade from Old, Mercury-based Thermostat October 27, 2009 John J. Gorsky (Atlanta, GA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Installation - 4/5 - Incredibly easy. The wiring bracket is a really thin plastic that could break easy if too much pressure were to be applied. The directions were very clear and easy to follow. The wall mount is great; the thermostat sits off the wall only about an inch.
Programming - 4/5 - Incredibly easy. Basically there are four time slots during the day that can be programmed. The time slots are predefined by default, but you have complete control over the time slots and the running temperature during said time slot. This model does not show the programmed temperature on the main display, only the current ambient temperature which may cause some unnecessary adjustments.
Overall - 4/5 - This is a great upgrade from an old mercury based or broken thermostat. The programming options are sure to improve your electric bill from the moment installation is complete.
Temp is off October 20, 2009 Phil J. Damico 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Temp reads 3 to 5 degrees higher...woke up very cold 1st night. The reason I say 3 to 5 is because when I woke up it was 3 degrees off so I turned it up to where the furnace kicked on and the thing shot up about 5 degrees before the heat was on even a minute...so anyway the heat turns off and it's still cold.Comparing the temp in the room with the old mercury thermostat and another digital temp recorder it was 5 degrees higher then what both of these said.I think it's closer to 3 degrees off as it seems the old mercury type thermostat seems just a bit slower to react then these digital readers. After about 1 hour the old mercury thermostat is getting closer reading 74 while the honeywell is reading 77.
