When my purchase "Vornado Heavy-Duty Shop Fan" first arrived and I looked at the size and thought "Impossible" ....To say the least the Fan has replaced two of my fans a Lasko 24" fan and a Lasko 20" stand fan ....
The Vornado really moves a lot of air ...It is not as noisy as the other two fans either and I can hear myself think for once.
I like it so much I just ordered a second one and believe me you won't be disappointed. I say this as a retired Specifications Engineer.

This is a great product. It will run continuously and quietly without heating up like the "bargain fans" do, and it's much quieter, too. I also like the three-prong plug and longer, heavy duty cord.
I think some people equate noise with velocity when assessing a fan- this is a mistake with a Vornado.

This is a tremendous fan for working musicians. It's very quiet and very powerful. I've wasted money on all kinds of big, noisy, weak fans. Vornado is the best [...] I've spent. It's small, light-weight, strong, durable, and quiet. You cannot find a better fan at any price. I just hope they start making it in black too.

This is not heavy duty especially when used as a fan. Even on the highest of the 3 speeds it is very weak and the best you can say is that it will not stir up shop dust. Vornado products continue to rely more and more on name alone and not on fact. Too bad.
