Fast and Easy November 20, 2009 Wesley A. Brown (Redondo Beach, CA) This scanner was bought so that I could scan documents and photos for a book on my family history, a second edition to the one I did in 1999. It covers ancestors back to 1290 AD. There are handwritten items, clippings, and miscellaneous articles, some with photos.
The scanner enhances dull print and scans 20 items in about 30 minutes, improving the readability of the items. Scans go to a folder in My Documents and they will later be transferred to a Word 97 document where they can be labelled. From that Word 97 file, they will be either printed as a book of about 120 pages or made into CDs for distribution to the family.
The scanner is very easy to operate once one learns the simple procedure. I don't recall getting paper instructions but I wondered how to turn it off for a while(press the on button more than 3 seconds), for example. It's wonderful!

slide scanner review November 16, 2009 Lloyd C. Hackl 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
The outer packaging from Amazon was intact , but the inner product packaging had two large holes punched in it. I notified the seller immediately of the problem without receiving any response. The scanner when unpacked seemed visibly OK. In operation, the scanner squeaks, but seems otherwise OK.

Good, inexpensive scanner November 12, 2009 Paul Grillo I was looking for an inexpensive scanner to scan many of my dad's old 35mm slides. The Epson v300 fits the bill. Once you get through the bad documentation and user guide, it's worked perfectly. I've scanned about 200 of the slides so far and the results are great for my needs.
