VENTILATION ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY! November 13, 2009 Skinflint Extraordinaire (Eden Prairie, MN) This stuff works well, and I am not even aware of a comparable competitor. That being said, this some POTENT STUFF! The fumes are terrible.
Apply this only if it is nice enough to leave all of your doors / windows you do not apply it to wide open. That, and maybe tell your wife and children to go stay at grandma's for the weekend. So, do not wait until it is cold out to apply it, because you will be sorry (and probably dizzy from the fumes).
They are selling this now with vanilla scent, so you can get high off of it dreaming of ice cream and fields of vanilla!
Peel and Seal Caulk September 6, 2009 Rosemary Behr (Sellersville, PA USA) Couldn't find it in any local building supply stores, large chains or small individually owned stores. Works great, just what we needed!
Keeps the cold out....... July 16, 2009 M. Walker (Chehalis) This product worked better than I expected. We live in an old house with old windows that leak cold air in. I sealed the windows in the winter and then wanted to remove the seal in the summer to install an air conditioner. The caulk came out easily in pretty much one piece. If you may want to remove it later, this is the one to use. I could not find it in any of the usual box stores.
great for teachers June 26, 2009 Barbara L. Mellis (canton mi usa) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am a teacher and use seal and peel to attach posters, pictures, art work, etc. on the walls. It works great. The items stay up until you take them down and there is no mess and it doesn't tear the paper or leave marks on the board. The only problem is, I have a hard time finding it at any of the local hardward stores in my area.
Effective but alas the fumes June 24, 2009 T. Lavallee (Worcester, MA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
As many of the other reviewers had said the fumes are killer. The caulk is extremely effective, but it takes a good week or two for the fumes to disapate. I was a little concerned about my poor cats being subjected to the fumes 24/7. Once the fumes fade, it's fine. Removal of the calk in the spring if fairly easy and mess free. We have really terrible windows, so some of the loose paint did come off with the calk, but I was expecting that to happen. All in all, I will probably use again next winter, but I won't do all the windows at once. I highly suggest leaving one or two windows unsealed while the others are curing so that you can have access to fresh air.
