About Under Armour It started with a simple plan to make a superior T-shirt. A shirt that provided compression and wicked perspiration off your skin rather than absorb it. A shirt that worked with your body to regulate temperature and enhance performance. Founded in 1996 by former University of Maryland football player Kevin Plank, Under Armour is the originator of performance apparel - gear engineered to keep athletes cool, dry, and light throughout the course of a game, practice, or workout. The technology behind Under Armour's diverse product assortment for men, women, and youth is complex, but the program for reaping the benefits is simple: wear HeatGear when it's hot, ColdGear when it's cold, and AllSeasonGear between the extremes. Under Armour's mission is to make all athletes better through passion, science, and the relentless pursuit of innovation. Every Under Armour product is doing something for you; it's making you better.

Works as advertized May 31, 2009 J. Mijares (San Francisco, CA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
You'd think that something as thin as this wouldn't keep you warm, but in March 2009 I was in Kansas City, MO for a conference. I had this as a base layer and wore a good windbreaker on top of it, some thick gloves to protect my hands, and reflective toque. It was 18 degrees F at 5am and I went for a run in KC from my hotel to the Liberty Memorial and back, total of 3.4 miles. This, along with my Under Armour Cold Gear Action Legging Mens, kept me warm.
If you run in cold weather, anywhere from 55 degrees to about 18 degrees, and you have a solid windbreaker, gloves, a nice warm hat, and this as a base layer, you'll be fine.
Just what I wanted April 29, 2009 A. Barber My husband ordered this from amazon due to the lack of variety at our local sports store. It came in quickly and was exactly what he was wanting!

I gave this product 3 stars for one reason: the color is NOT what I ordered. I ordered PURPLE; I received what looks like an odd navy blue. The whole purpose for ordering purple was to match a team uniform. Although the UA tag had a purple strip to indicate the shirt was purple, it was not. I'm guessing it was a factory second because of the color. I will choose another vendor -- UA directly -- to ensure I receive the color I expect.
Just what I needed! February 14, 2009 Chris H. (Portland, OR United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have been looking for a top to run in near freezing temps, so I gave this a try. I have used it a few times in temps in the high 20's and was very comfortable, which I just couldn't believe. Only once when it was cold and windy did I have to put on a light wind breaker. I also have the Cold Gear Hood which is the perfect companion to this item. The snug fit was a little strange at first but you get used to it immediately, and even standing around a bit after a run I was able to stay relatively warm. Can't recommend enough. Note: Great in temperatures up to 50 degrees, got a bit warm for me after that.
