Warner Strip 'N' Clean Scraper
We used this tool to remove parquet flooring and other floor tiles, and the 50-year-old adhesive that held it all down. The flooring mostly popped right up. However, the adhesive was up to 1/8" thick in many places; so this tool was used to chisel most of it away. We then applied adhesive remover and used the tool to scrape up the softened adhesive.
- Tool is sufficiently sturdy to use as a chisel, by tapping the end with a hammer. Unfortunately, since the tool is aluminum, after many hours of such abuse, the handle tip forms a mushroom shape; it should have a steel cap to reduce that effect.
- Blade is blued tool steel, reversible, replaceable, and both edges can be resharpened. It's held on with two bolts, an approach that works well. The blade is beveled on one side only.
- Tool has a rubberized handle for comfort.
- As long as you avoid chipping concrete or other hard materials, the blade stays sharp for quite a while.
