Great for our 2 year old November 9, 2009 Susan Combest Our two year old Grandaughter loves this game. It is a cute game to start them out on the basics of game playing and taking turns. It is also a cute little game to teach them their shapes and colors.
Love it! July 21, 2009 ChriSpenceRachel 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This has been a great introduction to turn taking games. It is very simple and takes only a few minutes to complete a game, but that fits my 3 year old and 2 year old perfectly. The design in fantastic, it keeps all the pieces together perfectly. My daughter could play this when she was as little as 18 months old and mostly understood what was going on. And if you are creative you can extend the educational value beyond shapes and colors to addition/subtraction, greater than/less than, etc. as your children gain new skills. Overall, a great purchase!
Good for small children April 9, 2009 angel1533 (Bellefontaine, OH) I have 2 preschoolers, and they get a kick out of this game....There isn't a whole lot of educational value in it; only in that it teaches kids the concept of taking turns. But it's fun for family time, and it's one that the kids can play themselves without an adult having to play (which can be kind of nice sometimes).
Hasbro Candyland Castle Game March 30, 2009 Barbara J. Votrobeck (Iowa) Got it for my grandson's second birthday. Although it says it's for 3+, a two-year old can play it easily. I had to help him match the first couple of shapes and colors, then he was going to town on it himself. What he has to learn now is how to take turns with others in order to make it a game.
perfect for a very active and impatient 2 yr. old boy March 11, 2009 Tina C. (St. Louis, MO USA) This game is durable and easy to understand for little ones. I have a four year old girl, and a two year old boy, I also watch a 3 year old girl and a 1 year old. This game interests all of them especially my 2 yr old boy. Most games are either two complicated are two easy to break for him. He loves this game and asks to play it every day.
I keep all the pieces and the game boards in a gallon size freezer bag and put in under the castle which I keep with all the other games.
I got it on sale right before christmas for around $6.00. But I would gladly pay much more for it now that I know what a great game it is. It is really helping him with some of his colors and shapes and just playing encourages him to use his words. He doesnt talk alot and this game helps him want to communicate more! Would be too easy for over three or even for some smart 3 year olds if they didnt have someone younger to play with.
