I normally wear a size 9, but my feet were sliding out of them as I walked. I tried an 8 1/2 -still too wide :-( These shoes are super cute though. When I first started wearing them, though, they rubbed the backs of my heels a bit, so I had to wear bandaids underneath them. Now, I just wear nylon knee highs, and they're fine. (Don't wear these barefoot, or they will develop a bad smell that you can't get rid of!) I just wish they had more support... Excellent Shipper - Cute Shoes   September 18, 2009 Andrea H. The shoes are adorable but they are too small which is the only reason I rated them a four star versus a five. I always wear a size 9 and my feet are fairly thin. I'm trying to decide if I should try to break them in or send them back for a larger size. Either way, I think they are a great purchase. I bought them in black and grey. Comfortable as slippers! Unfortunately, wearing them without socks renders them disgustingly smelly. I decided to toss the rancid-smelling pair and buy fresh ones. This time, I bought some Dr. Scholl's odor insoles so I can go sockless without the smelliness. Anyway, I highly recommend these shoes. The knotted toe provides a hint of texture that's more fun than your basic ballet flat.
