Great for a few months... November 22, 2009 A. Chase but after 9 weeks of use it no longer provides accurate readings. I apparently weigh either 120 lbs or 220 lbs, sometimes fluctuating between the two in a matter of minutes.
It is a real shame too, because the scale is attractive, readable, and good for small spaces like ours. If only it did what it was supposed to do, I'd give it 5 stars without reservation.
Great At First Then Flopped November 20, 2009 Adekemi Sijuwade (Brooklyn, NY USA) This scale was quite good when I first bought it. Then I moved to a different apartment, and it began giving slightly different accounts of how much I weigh. Over the past few weeks, which is about 4 months since I bought this scale, it has been very inaccurate.
I recently changed batteries and when I placed the scale on the ground (I usually keep it in my closet), the reading automatically went from 0.0 to 4.4. Since then, it reads 4.4 for the first initial reading. I usually wait for that number to disappear then weigh myself.
I am on a weight management plan and was expecting to see the scale show some of the results of my labor, only to find out for this whole month, I have remained at the same weight. You can image my disappointment, because I have really been working hard. Then my mom stepped on the scale and was instantly 10 lbs heavier. I knew then something was wrong. I tested my weight on another scale and I have indeed lost like 6 pounds, which is what I am supposed to have lost on the plan I am on.
So, I have to buy another scale now. Not sure which one. but will keep trying.
Slower is surer. November 20, 2009 Samuel Chell (Kenosha,, WI United States) Two clarifications regarding my title: 1. If you're overly hasty, you could easily miss the batteries. They're wedged into the outside of one of the two styrofoam pieces. Most consumers, I'm sure will spot them, though even after combing through the box and shaking everything, I failed to notice them without assistance. 2. The scale takes a bit longer to deliver its count than our Taylor, and occasionally even gives an "error" reading. But, as I've discovered, that's because it takes its time to assure a more accurate reading. (My wife prefers our old Taylor because of its speed; but I like the accuracy of the EatSmart--moreover, it gives me a slightly lower reading than the Taylor scale.)
Quick service, good product November 19, 2009 C. Richards (San Mateo, CA United States) So far so good for this digital scale. Easy to read. Quality materials. Very reasonable price.
Stop searching.. just buy it November 19, 2009 W. Reese Dead on accurate, easy to use, easy to read, good price.. Why continue your search for a good product - you have found it!
