| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description This compact tabletop air purifier is ideal for helping to remove common airborne allergens in smaller rooms such as the nursery, bedrooms, office, kitchen or den. The 3-stage filter system provides extremely effective air cleaning and the permanent HEPA-type filter never needs replacing.

Compact Air Cleaner - Honeywell HHT-011 November 25, 2009 In the AmaZone... So far I'm happy enough with my purchase of the Honeywell HHT-011 to have purchased a second one for the spare bedroom. The product is very compact, but still moves quite a bit of air on the higher fan speeds. The highest of the three fan speeds is fairly loud, but since we use this speed as "white noise" at night, we do not find this to be a problem. The medium speed, which we run through the day, still moves enough air to keep the dust down, but is quiet enough to not notice the sound. I don't run the ionizer, which seems unnecessary to me anyway, since it has HEPA filtration. There is also a small LED "nightlight" that can be switched on while the unit is running.
The washable pre-filter is open cell foam and the main filter is a fabric HEPA with a rubber gasket. If you need something to reduce odors, what I did was replace the pre-filter with the activated charcoal filter that most air cleaners use as pre-filters. I bought a universal Honeywell pre-filter at Target (the same one I used for my Honeywell 10500? that this unit replaced) and just cut out the size I needed using the foam filter as a template. It seems to work better at reducing pet odor, and dander. When dirty, it can be disposed of and replaced with another one cut from the universal pre-filter (I figure I will get about 8 from it -for around $10). I don't know if this substitution will affect the warranty, but it doesn't seem to make the blower work any harder.
I replaced a larger Honeywell air cleaner with this unit, which is actually undersized for my room by about a third, and haven't noticed any increase in dust, odors or anything else. My last Honeywell ran almost continuously for just over three years before the blower started rattling. If I get half that for this unit at just under a third of the price, I'll be happy.
One suggestion of vacuuming out the filter: Unless your vacuum has HEPA filtration, you should probably vacuum out the filter in a different location than where the unit is being used, otherwise you will just remove the stuff that the HEPA filter caught and blow it back into the room through the vacuum.
Love my Honeywell HHT-011 Air Purifier November 25, 2009 Susan F So far I really like this product. It's a little loud, but for the price I can live with that. My house doesn't smell stuffy when I walk through the front door anymore. Haven't had to clean the filter yet, so that will be the ultimate test. I highly recommended it.
Nice little purifier! November 21, 2009 S. Sirisinahal (NY USA) If you can compromise on the sound it produces..this is the cpeapest purifier in the market for small rooms. Good value for the money and does it job quite well if you leave it on 24/7. Not sure how long it will last but I am using it from a week now.
excellent value November 15, 2009 beauty maven (ny) this air purifier is small enough to fit in a small space, but performs very well. i would buy this item again.
BAD-BAD-BAD November 14, 2009 Timothy J. Powers 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I placed it in my office which is less than 200 sq ft and with it on high I smoked one cigar. Twenty hours later it still smelled of smoke. What a joke.
