A must have control for water heaters November 7, 2009 Thomas A. Elliott (SC USA) Installed mine in about 45 minutes. My electrical wire was very long so I didn't need to purchase extra. Set it to run the water heater from 5:30am to 7:30am then off, then on again at 5:30pm and off at 9:00pm. I don't use hot water for clothes washing just showering and the dishwasher really. The timer paid for itself THE FIRST MONTH and the way I see it, it has been making money stay in my pocket that used to go the the power company. Possibly one of the best inventions of the last 2 decades.
Easy to install November 3, 2009 powder2 (Florida) Don't know why all the negative comments about wiring this thing. Couldn't have been easier. And, I'm no rocket scientist.
water heater timer October 30, 2009 Alan L. Bartlett The WH21 was less expensive than similar items at Home Depot and Lowe's, and the shipping was free. One of the two timers purchased from Amazon was defective, but Amazon immediately shipped a replacement. The timers were easy to install and program.
Money saver October 28, 2009 Mitchell Hageman (San Antonio, TX United States) Very straight forward to hook up. I'm running my hot water heater for about four hours a day and I have sufficient heated water. I haven't seen my utility bill yet so I can't make a judgement on dollar savings.
I should have thought of this years ago.
Intermatic WH21 Electric Water Heater Timer September 12, 2009 N. Teller (Boca, Fla.) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Had to return it as it is not the right timer for my electric water heater. The case is too small for the #10 wiring. Had to give it one star to publish the review which I cannot review.
