A two-in-one device, this unit reduces smoke, pollen, dust, pet dander, mold, and odor particles in a closed room's air while simultaneously humidifying it. The humidifier is certified up to 750 square feet. The purifier, however, produces just four air changes per hour--two fewer than generally accepted as desirable--in a room of only 168 square feet. That said, using the unit is an inexpensive way to humidify a room and get some air-cleaning capability as well. Two removable bottles evaporate 3.3 gallons of water in 24 hours. A humidistat automatically controls humidity at a selected level. (It can be turned off during high-humidity months, when only the air cleaner is needed.) The humidifier's wicks may be rinsed and the purifier's electrostatically charged filter vacuumed to prolong their lives. Bemis recommends replacing the wicks once during a humidifying season and the filter at the end of each season. The unit carries a two-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

this is a great machine for the price. you really can't beat it. it works great and makes little noise. only downfall is the price of the replacement wicks and filter.

1) it's all plastic2) it's gonna cost you about... per year to keep this machine operating (replacement wick, air filter, and bacteria killing chemicals). that's a great business model for bemis, but not for the consumer. there are other models that humidify without wicks and without the use of chemicals.

We bought this product, as part of our Dr. Weil '8 Weeks to Optimum Health' regimen. And, we really love it. During the winter, when the bedroom gets so dry, the humidifier really does the trick. And, it may be in our heads, but the air really does seem to be cleaner than in the rest of the house.This product has great air quality ratings (HEPA, etc.) relative to other products in its price range, and was easy to set up, etc. Our only gripe is that it is a bit of a pain to clean. You need to take it all apart, etc. However, this may be the case with all of these products, and thus, may just be par for the course. We recommend this product whole-heartedly.

This product definately lives up to the humidifier side, but I found that it was only decent as an air purifier, not really measuring up to some of Bemis' other fine products.
