Product Description Brita On Tap 2-Stage Faucet Filter System, Certified To Reduce Chemicals Linked to Cancer Risk: TTHMs, Benzene, TCE, Toxaphene, Eliminates 98.7% Of Lead, Sediment and Chlorine, Attached Easily Without Tools.
Amazon.com Review Brita changed the way we think about water pitchers, and now the company is aiming to do the same with water faucets. The Brita faucet filter system attaches easily to your faucet without tools, and features an electronic LED filter replacement indicator that flashes red when the filter should be replaced. Merely turn on the tap and enjoy fully filtered, fresh-tasting water. Each Brita filter reduces such impurities as cryptosporidium, giardia, lead, asbestos, and benzene, while also eliminating bad tastes and foul odors. In fact, the Brita faucet filter is the most effective Brita filter, more efficient than the company's popular pitcher filter. Users should replace Brita faucet filters every 100 gallons or four months, whichever comes first. --Rivers Janssen

Poor quality control - great customer service October 19, 2008 SMQ 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The pitcher was not suitable for me, too slow and small fridge with no room. This turned out to be the answer for removing that awful chlorine/aquarium smell/taste of our municipal water. It worked great for about 5 weeks. Then the light started blinking red. No way it needed a cartridge so soon but I dutifully complied (bought 4 replacement cartridges) felt it was still cheaper, more environmentally friendly than lugging bottled water. Two weeks after the filter change the light was dead. As in doornail. I had thrown out my receipt so decided to vent my frustration with "contact us" on the website. I got an email reply that a replacement base unit would be in the mail soon. Received in a week. Hey, great. But, the replacement did not work properly - though I had a green light, when I tried to get just faucet water, a steady stream kept up through the filter side too. Not good, since hot water when washing dishes would be going through filter. I put the dead light/battery one back on as CS has said there was no danger from a dead battery. Once again vented frustration by using the "contact us" on website. This time I was emailed with a phone number and case number to talk to someone about the "leak" (what leak, the darn diverter wasn't working!). I was prepared for a long wait but reached a person pretty quickly. He was very knowledgable and likeable and said most of their calls were about dead lights but the diverter thing was rare. He said he would send out a new one and sure enough, I got an entire new unit, filter and base. Haven't tried it out yet. Am still using the dead light one since it works fine except for the light (put a post it on fridge with the date). Will keep as a spare. My advice, don't bother spending money on this unit with light and sprayer, the light dies way too young and is unreliable in counting. And the sprayer is virtually useless you want to get soaked. Go with the economy unit. Keep your receipt. And don't be afraid to gripe when it breaks down. Their customer service is good even if the mfring quality control stinks.
Works great, until it's time to change the filter September 26, 2008 cxmackwev (MA) I loved this system until it was time to change the filter. The indicator light never reset, even after attempting the manual reset procedure several times. A call to customer service got me a brand new system without asking for it, which makes me wonder how many other people had the same problem. Fabulous, until again, it was time to change the filter. Same problem with the new unit. They've offered to replace it again, but this time, I have to send my unit to them before they'll send the new, leaving me without my filtered water until the new one arrives. I think I will give the PUR system a whirl this time.
Brita faucet mount August 29, 2008 J. Berman (Berkeley, CA) I've used these filters for 5 years and they are good. But this one was a lemon. The light did not work and it leaked. I had to return and exchange through the Brita company. Fortunately, they have incredibly helpful and responsive customer service reps.
Unit would NOT fit Faucet August 12, 2008 Gold God (Earth Sector) I would love to know how well or awful this product works, BUT the $$%%## Thing would not fit on my faucet! Forget about those cheap plastic adaptors....they lasted about one good turn...I have an inside grooved faucet....so when these adapters gave up the ghost, I went to the hardware store and bought a metal one for an additional $3.59. The salesman told me that he had complaints about The Brita NOT fitting onto sink faucets, but why not give it a try...he also told me that I could bring it back if it did not work. Well It Didn't!! Shucks...!!! now I have to go and invest in a PUR I guess, since I do not want to buy individual plastic bottles any more...what a shame...I have used their pitcher system for years and enjoyed it.
Great service and product July 17, 2008 T. Adams (Summerfield, FL) This is a great product for your kitchen faucet and so easy to install and use.
