Amazon.com Review Clean air indoors, especially in the colder weather when all the windows are shut tight, can be a precious commodity. Hamilton Beach's TrueAir plug-in air cleaners really come in handy; working together, this two-pack scrubd a lot of odor out of the air. When plugged in and switched on, a small green indicator light will go on; this means that the all-purpose carbon filter is working to eliminate strong odors such as tobacco, litter boxes, diaper pails, or even pungent cooking smells that can become unpleasant if they linger. Each filter lasts for 30 days of continuous use or up to 120 days of occasional use. A small dial on the upper right-hand side can be set as a reminder about which month the filter will need to be changed. Unplug the unit before cleaning. Wipe exterior housing with a clean, dry cloth only--use a damp cloth or a vacuum cleaner to remove lint and debris from the grill; do not use detergents, solvents, or spray cleaners. The unit is not immersible. The Hamilton Beach TrueAir air cleaner measures 6-1/2 by 8 by 3-1/2 inches. The TrueAir uses Hamilton Beach replacement filters 04290, 04291, or 04294. Hamilton Beach offers a two-year limited warranty covering defects in materials and labor that occur during normal use. --Garland Withers

| Customer Reviews: As for pet odors... August 9, 2007 A. Lowther 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I see some people disagree as to the effectiveness of this item to reduce pet odors. I purchase the pet odor reducing filters, specially made for this product, and they are fantastic. I have 5 cats and it's made an enormous improvement- so long as the filter is within 6 feet of the box. I love it. Can't imagine our home without it.
Mini Air Filter in the Kitchen May 31, 2007 Reviewer Mary (Little Falls, NJ United States) This air cleaner is plugged next to my cook top. It gets turned it on whenever anyone is cooking. The kitchen smells fresh within a short period of time even after cooking fish! This Two-Pack was a great value.

Very cool product... I bought 16 double packs because it was cheaper to just use the unit and the throw it away vs. buying a filter... These are very good though... I've been using them for the past 5 months and I can definately notice a difference in the air quality. They really pick up the dust... Which is what I wanted...
This is an excellent Air Cleaner January 20, 2007 K. Smith (Lake Forest, CA USA) 5 out of 8 found this review helpful
This system is called an Air Cleaner, not an air freshener, so I don't think I would expect it to remove pet odors or any other scents from my home. We have 5 air cleaners throughout our house; one in each of the bedrooms and one in the living room. After only a few months, we checked the black filters, and was amazed at how much dust was removed from our home. Imagine how much dust is blown around in the winter-time, with the dirty vents blowing the dust everywhere. I haven't noticed a change in the odor of my house, but then again, I have Vanilla scented candles and Renuzits around my house, so I really don't want the scent removed. Running the air cleaner during the night bothered my husband while he slept, so we only run ours during the day. My 3 teenage sons sleep through the humming sound, and don't notice it at all. I bought some extra filters on Ebay, so I would never run out.

I have 4 of these....
If you want a small kind of noisy fan in the room with you buy it. It does a mediocre at best job of removing pet odor or cigar smoke. I'd buy a larger air cleaner. Please dont repeat my mistake. You get what you pay for. The unit plugs into the wall and operates with the same noise as any 4 inch fan. It doesnt pull enough air through the filter to be effective.
I have a big kenmore that really works well. Its all about moving air through the filter; this one just doesnt seem to pull much through.
Thanks and good luck
