 Great machine, but... November 22, 2009

After purchasing one of these HEPA filter machines, I was impressed with how quiet and effective they were. After my good experience with the first machine, I purchased two more machines.
The problem is that these machines do wear out. After about 1 1/2 years of use, my filter machine became noisier and less powerful. Since I use one in my bedroom, I had to swap it out with a newer, quieter machine. Even though these machines wear out, I cannot argue with the price. They are well priced for what they can do. I will purchase more machines.

AMAZON, TAKE THIS PRODUCT OFF OF YOUR WEBSITE. I placed five stars on this so that it would be more likely to be read. But if you're considering actually buying this product, read the one-star review. No replacements filters available means this product should not be on the market. Why does Amazon continue to allow sleezy vendors to sell on their website? Bad idea, Amazon. With all the money you're making, please hire some people to go through product reviews and perhaps match them up with the complaint department and DO SOMETHING about it. I once bought a Haier compact refrigerator and had problems with it. No matter how many times I contacted the company with my questions, no one ever called or emailed me. Not ever. But Amazon is still selling Haier's garbage on their website. I paid about $250 for that thing and just sold it for $15 at a garage sale. Now, here they are selling a filter-reliant product for which there are no replacement filters available.

I have horrible allergies in the spring and fall and this works great. Even better I live in an extremely congested area of NJ and this sucker is LOUD on high, I mean really loud, my husband calls it "the airport" when he walks by and I have it cranked. It's great for drowning out loud noises such as traffic, building noise, street noise etc. I'm so glad to have found this on Amazon. I thought they had discontinued this model. If you need allergy relief + intense noise reduction this is the product for you. I can't sleep without it

I was hoping that it would help clear cigarette smoke but it does not help at all.

I have a lot of allergies and asthma..the area I live in is very dusty ..I was constantly dusting..I bought 2 of these ..placed one in my bedroom and one in the living..within 2 days there was a noticable decrease in the dust on my furniture..Instead of dusting daily I am dusting twice a week..I'm am breathing and sleeping a lot better too..I am considering buying a 3rd unit for my kitchen/dining room..I am more than pleased with the performance of these units..
