Excellent Addition to Any Kitchen Sink October 14, 2009 D. Brust (Minnesota USA) I'm currently on my second EuroJet. Not because the first one wore out, but because I recently moved and my girlfriend demanded that I get a new one for the new house. I originally stumbled upon this device at a brick-and-mortar store and thought it seemed like a nice idea. I'd used other sinks in the past with similar devices, though without the same level of flexibility. The one I purchased in-store was in a box just like the one pictured here. The one I received from Amazon came in one of those frustrating clam-shell packages. I much prefer the cardboard box packaging, but oh well.
Installation is very easy. Whether you have threads on the inside or outside of your faucet, installation is simple, requiring no more than a pliers. Just make sure to wrap your pliers' teeth with some sort of cloth or paper towel so you don't scratch your fixtures. The installation directions can be a little confusing, though, simply because the pictures don't quite match up to what you are given. For example, the adapter they have pictured looks like a washer, but I believe it is supposed to represent the metal adapter you screw onto your faucet if the threads are on the inside of the faucet. There is also a washer included which has only a very small hole in the middle of it. No explanation is given as to its purpose. I assume it is used to limit the amount of water flow.
Speaking of water flow, that took the most getting used to. I've found that much more water comes out with this sprayer installed (when in normal-flow mode). I had to get used to not turning the sink on as high as I was used to, but that's just a minor quibble.
The first sprayer I had was a little tight when switching from normal-flow to jet-spray mode. It would sometimes take quite a pull to get it to switch. The second sprayer I have is a little loose. It switches much more easily, but it doesn't seem to fully transition to jet-spray mode. When the black piece is pulled down, it actually appears to be a little crooked, with part of the black piece not fully pulled down. This causes one of the sprayer holes to not quite fully engage. So, water comes half out of the center of the device in that area, half out of the sprayer hole. If you pull on the black piece a little harder, it'll then fully engage and water will only come out of the sprayer hole. In the end, this doesn't seem to affect the device's effectiveness at all.
All-in-all, it's a very nice device. It provides for a very powerful spray, and is able to reach any corner of the sink. It also makes it much easier to get the water spray out of your way when you don't need it (for those times when you're scrubbing something and don't want the water to wash away your soap, but still need the water flowing to rinse out the sink). Instead of moving your faucet head over to the other sink, for example, you can just tilt the sprayer so that the water directs off to the back corner of the sink.
I docked it a star because of the instructions and the consistency of the device's quality. The instructions, as previously mentioned, seem a little too dumbed-down. They tried to make them as simple as possible, but I'd appreciate further explanation on a few points. As for the device's quality, it seems pretty good to me so far, but the fact that the first unit I got was much tighter than the second one, and the second one doesn't seem to full engage, concerns me. Also, other reviewers seem to have to replace the device after a few years, but that doesn't surprise me. All washers and rings wear out over time. The low cost of this device makes up for having to replace it every few years. Installation is very simple, so even when you do have to replace it, it shouldn't take long.
I agree with Thierry -- it wasn't so great. September 14, 2009 Christopher S. Purcell (Kansas City, MO United States) Yes, yes, and yes, I had the same problems as Thierry Hansard: it was always hard to pull from stream to spray, and it didn't reset for very long. There was often leakage from the joints. Soooo, after less than a year, I'll take Thierry's recommendation and try the Elkay aerator.
a little long September 12, 2009 south texas granny (texas gulf coast) reaches all the sink, but it's just a little long. i don't know that the extra swivel really adds anything to it, but it works quite well. you have to pull down quite hard to get the spray, so need two hands.
The only one to buy! August 18, 2009 Steven Townsend (Garland, Texas) Yep in the past I have tried several others for the kitchen sink, and this one is by Far the Best!
One thing I like with this one is the amount of swivel you have to reach every corner and even dishes stacked high.
The Quality is the the highest I've seen in these devices, so it will last for many many years.
I thought it wound not fit my off size faucet, but the kit comes with so many attachments there was one for mine.
As a bonus the looks are appealing and feels of sturdy metal with a rubber grip to switch from normal aeration to a powerful enough spray.
These things are great for gifts as well, I have given the EuroJet to my family and they still use and love them as much as I do.
I Highly recommend this product to any one who uses your sink often.
You will absolutely love the EuroJet!
Better choice available! August 11, 2009 JML (USA) The EuroJet falls apart and leaks. A far better product is the Whedon SW8C Double Swivel SuperSpray. The EuroJet seems to be a copy of the Whedon product. The Whedon changes from spray to stream much easier, swivels much easier, and doesn't fall apart (the end cap on the EuroJet falls out). Plus the Whedon is less money.
