 Embarassing For La Crosse,Weather Channel and Amazon April 30, 2010

given this at Christmas 2009. went well for 4 months then digits disappeared ,just bars on the screen, Checked batt voltage near 1.5 but changed for new Duracells with voltage just over 1.5 same result. Tried with a newly purchased pair of Duracells,,voltage over 1.5 same resultTried new Energisers well this product does not disciminate.Tried to contact La Crosse online. the site changed once during our 4 attempts,now gives a statement that the devices need at least 1.48v. No help to the individual customer online or by phone. I suspect that La Crosse has no intention of honoring its warranty.The Weather Channel needs to rethink its involvement with La Crosse

I was impressed with both the quality and the price of this product. I was also pleased with the speed in which the product arrived at my door. I had been trying to buy a product like this locally but could never find one of this caliber. I searched on Amazon, and there it was. Exactly what I was looking for.
Works For What I Need January 21, 2010

After combing through many reviews for this product and other hygrometers I purchased this one realizing that it wouldn't be perfect but should work for what I needed. That is exactly what happened. Our house is dry in the winter especially due to the use of a wood pellet stove and no matter how much we ran our two small humidifiers we had no idea if we were even close to a decent humidity level. The Comfort Meter has made it easier for us to monitor the humidity level in the house, noting when it is dropping before it gets so low that our throats and eyes are parched. We are hopeful that next Fall it will help us stay on top of maintaining adequate humidity in the house so we won't have to play so much catch up. I would agree with those who say it is not dead-on accurate but for general humidity/temperature info and in order to maintain comfort levels in a room or two it works great.
