Its computer chip is programmed to bombard water passing through your pipe with over 200 different electromagnetic low frequency pulses. The skin more soft and without itch, less soap to get more foam, the clothes more soft, and I hope as they said the scale in the pipes have be reduced with the time. Works as advertised   September 29, 2009 M. Tilelli (Utah, USA) We just bought a new house and installed this within a couple weeks of moving in. After emptying the hot water heater (by filling the tub until the water was cold), the difference in the water was immediate. We spent the previous month and a half in an apartment with very hard water, which made the change that much more noticeable. I am recommending this to everyone I know. I really wanted this product to work as I do not like having to use a traditional water softener. Once our existing salt based water softener broke I decided to try the Clearwave and see if my wife could tell the difference. I did not tell her about the change and this was truly going to be blind field test. After a couple of weeks my wife asked if there was anything wrong with our softener as she had begun to notice some typical hard water build up. I had to fess up to the change and asked her to give it a few more weeks. I waited the full 90 days but it was clear that the Clearwave did not do the job as well as a traditional water softener. It appeared to not make any difference at all. The hard water stains were readily apparent in the shower and near the sink. I will very reluctantly go back to a salt based system until some better comes along to replace it. Never imagined that this will work. I installed it in the evening and found hte results next day morning. It was fun.. never imagined that this will really work. Started recommending to friends and family and lets see how they find theresults.. i am happy..with time there is difference.. but its ok.. for the price i paid.. i feel happy to have some functionality.. But, how it really works needs soem clarity.. but who cares as long as it works.. i don't really want to know how Edison lighted his bulb..
