These have the same level of filtration as the Sears brand and function the same. The taste and clarity of the water is noticeably better. Will purchase again. Before I purchased these filters from Amazon, I checked the Kitchen Aid website to make sure of the correct order part number. My users guide said I should order part number 4392857 (NL-300 & L500) which has been discontinued. But the Kitchen Aid website recommended this part number. Buy these filters from Amazon. They are much cheaper than buying from Kitchen Aid's website.
