So far, so good on day one of installation November 5, 2009 Monkey King (San Jose, CA) House was built in 1997 in mild weather Northern California. Old water heater in the garage running on natural gas had been leaking for a while after 12 years of performance, with the base of the heater totally corroded. The Bosch 2700es tankless water heater running on natural gas was ordered from Amazon.com and horizontal venting parts ordered from a website recommended by Bosch.
A plumber was called for removal of the old heater and installation of the Bosch water heater next to the site of the old one (because we wanted to use the previous gas lines and water lines).
A new hole was drilled through the outer wall of the back of the garage for ventilation. A new electric outlet next the heater was also required. The water lines and gas lines had to be adjusted to fit with the Bosch water heater which was itself attached to the wall.
Surprisingly, the water heater provided near instantaneous HOT water when it was set at 140 degrees. The set temperature was subsequently lowered to 100 degrees to avoid accidental burning.
So far, so good. I am impressed. Now if only it can last for 20 years or so ...
Works beautifully October 30, 2009 K. Ramkissoon (New York NY) This product is awesome!! Heats water very fast. supply 2 showers and 3 sinks at the same time

Failed after the first year January 22, 2009 chip (USA) 4 out of 7 found this review helpful
This was a great product when it worked. It failed after the first year. Customer service SUCKS. They refuse to help. This product is suppose to last 15 to 20 years. How could it, with such poor built quality. Look for another brand.
3 months in with one glitch. January 12, 2009 Marcus Kubath (Garden Grove, CA USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
We purchased this water heater because ours broke on thanksgiving last year. So far this one has been quite a bit better than the one we replaced. I installed this unit myself which was pretty easy. If you are moderately handy you should have no problems. The temp is right on the money and the water gets hot pretty quick. The only thing that has happened so far that I thought was lame is that we had a power outage a few weeks ago and when the power came back on the heater didn't. I had to go outside and reset it myself. If that's the only thing that ever goes wrong I'll be happy.
One of the better tankless units out there. January 8, 2009 J. Tsai (Bellevue, WA) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I purchased this a few months ago and have been using it for a couple of months. When using a tankless water heater, you have to understand that it is different than a standard tank-type water heater. This item is great, but there is a little learning curve.
Like others have said, it isn't great for hand-washing and short bursts. But, who really needs a bunch of hot water for washing hands? It takes me like 10-15 seconds max to wash my hands. This appliance is great in several ways: It saves space in the garage, is energy efficient, and provides plenty of hot water.
I recommend using a licensed professional installer. First, you won't void your warranty. Second, they will install it properly, as you will likely have to increase your gas-line size (if your home is older like mine). I had an outfit install it that wasn't particularly familiar. I ended up having to call a plumbing and mechanical contractor to come fix it, after it wouldn't work. I also suggest the AQ3ES Vent Kit, but be aware that you may have to buy some extra lengths of the stainless vent pipe (they don't supply very much pipe, just the angles and custom parts).
Although it is a great product, it does have some things that may detract from user's full satisfaction. Yes, again, it doesn't instantly provide hot water. You have to let it run for a little bit. Also, there will be some tweaking for the unit temperature setting to achieve an acceptable flow rate as well water temperature. I've only used it during winter, and haven't had too much of an issue with low flow rates. During the summer should be fine. I live in the Seattle area, and my ground water is 45 degrees (for reference).
Again, it's a good product, but different than what you may be used to. If you purchase this product, get a licensed professional that has experience with Bosch tank less water heaters. You will be glad you did.
