I believe this to be a superior product - especially when you consider the price. I've put this unit to the test and unless you plan on grinding up tree stumps and used tires, you will be satisfied with its performance.
The installation instructions are detailed, easy to understand and explicit. Don't try to take shortcuts when installing the unit or you will end up backtracking.
Overall, I recommend this product as a thoroughly practical alternative to the other products in the marketplace.

I had a Waste King garbage disposal for 28 (yes 28!) years. Others I knew went through other brands in 4 - 5 years. When I replaced it with a new one, it was actually still working, its just had begun to corrode over time, and I feared it would eventually need replacing. Several plumbers told me that Waste King was the best, and Insinkerator was 2nd best. I went to every home improvement store around me including Home Depot and Lowes and could only find the Insinkerator brands, at much, much higher prices. I really wanted another Waste King so finally found it online.

I purchased this product on Monday and Amazon had it delivered at my door on Wednesday - this was their free shipping. I installed it on Friday to replace a 6 yr old builder grade disposer that started to leak from the bottom of the unit. Installation was very easy - had not installed one previously. This unit is very fast/powerful and we could barely hear it running. Other reviewers indicated that this unit was loud, we couldn't disagree more. As others have stated, it took me longer to remove the old unit than to install this one. I had a hardwired unit before, so I put that wire on a grounded outlet under the sink out of the way of any of the water lines the day before. I did a drain test of the old unit versus the new one, and ther water did drain slower, but only because the splash guard has tigher flaps that our previous one. Very pleased with the unit.

I had an older Wast King that was 20 years old. This new one is much faster and quieter. I would recomend it to all my friends . Great product.
