Outstanding Shower June 20, 2008 BD (Ohio) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you like a full stream shower, this is the shower head for you. It is extremely easy to remover the water restrictor for a full water shower. It is a great product and even has instructions on how to clean the shower head of scale to keep it working like new. This is the second one I have purchased and have recommended it to others and they love it.
Good as showerhead, unwieldy as handshower. June 18, 2008 G. Zitser (Queens, NY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Pros: Whatever mechanism hides beneath that larger than average head part it does create a decent water pressure. Cons: I've found myself using it mostly as a showerhead. It is rather heavy and overall shape makes it difficult to handle this thing ( and I am larger than average man, by the way). The materials and workmanship feel cheap. After 2 weeks the hose that came with handshower still stubbornly retains the bents it acquired while sitting inside the packaging.
Long lasting, high quality, reliable June 2, 2008 David B. Spalding (ChromeJob.com) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've had mine for over 10 years. Probably 13 or 14. Do you know ANY other consumer shower heads that last that long? My new townhome is the sixth home I've used it in. With light cleaning every few weeks, my Speakman looks practically new. The "self-cleaning" function seems to work, but I've used mine with inline water filters for years, so it doesn't get very dirty. I can tell you, the night before I moved, using a conventional (cheap) shower head without a filter, the next day I felt yucky. I didn't go to bed until I'd un-boxed and installed my ol' favorite Speakman in the master bathroom. I'm a Speakman fan for life.
Great cheap replacement showerhead March 18, 2008 B. Trimble (New York, NY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this to replace the crappy showerhead that came with our apartment, which mainly produced mist and stinging streams. I installed this one and the difference was like night and day. I followed the other reviewer's advice and left the low-flow regulator in and I agree that there is no reason to take it out. One caveat is that the "chrome" is really just chrome colored plastic that looks nice for now. However, I expected as much given the low price. So in summary, don't buy this if you want a designer bathroom (After trying this one I would probably just buy a more expensive Speakman) but do if you want a cheap, top-notch, hand held, low-flow shower.
Great showerhead January 23, 2008 Stephen G. Horlick (Gillette, WY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We've been thru water-pik, Delta, sunbeam and maybe a few more brands of hand-held shower heads but this Speakman is in a class by itself. There are instructions on the package on how to remove the water restrictor for "cleaning", but you really don't have to. None of the others have come close to producing the satisfying spray of this one. The downside is that it kinda hard to hold the slick surfaced handle when you're hands are wet.
