| Customer Reviews: Difficult to sip water up through filtered straw October 27, 2009 R. Mimbs 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
So I specifically bought this filtered water bottle because of the straw, only to learn it really is difficult to pull water against gravity through the filter. If I were advising a friend, I'd recommend to try the type filtered bottle you turn upside down and can squeeze to help push the water through the filter.
Nonetheless, the bottle is stylish and I'm sure works as well as any other with a straw design. If you decide to go with the straw design, know that it works better if you gently siphon the water... don't pull too hard because you just can't rush it through that filter.
Excellent way to stop using bottled water - and healthier, too! September 16, 2009 M. Curran 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I bought this bottle because I'd read that it removes over 99% of all pathogens and contaminants, more than any bottled water or other filter. It's handy to carry around with me, and I can put water from any source into it. It lasts a year, so the $40 it cost is cheap compared to what I was spending on San Pellegrino every month, not to mention all the glass bottles that needed to be recycled. The water tastes GREAT, too. Just let water sit in the bottle overnight, then pour it out before first time use. Otherwise, the water does not taste right. I wish it came with instructions! I had to figure this out for myself.
