Amazon.com Product Description The Ariston 6-gallon point-of-use electric mini-tank water heater eliminates the wait time for hot water to come from one or two sink faucets. You can install the heater independently or in-line with a larger water-heating source. You need no hard wiring to power your unit; simply plug it into any standard outlet and this heater's ready to go. The glass-lined tank ensures long life, and the superior insulation provides quick recovery and greater energy efficiency. RV Replacement September 23, 2008 Terry (Montana, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I used this for a replacement water heater in my travel trailer. I did not fit in the origianal space, so I installed it in the closet space and connected it with the original plumbing with plastic hose. You have to be plugged in to use it, but other than that it works great and at a cost of about 2/5th of what an RV water heater would cost.
AWESOME! September 21, 2008 JON IN L.A. (West Hollywood, CA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've purchased 2 of these for two different purposes. Both are GREAT! Easy to install (I am boarder-line incompetent when it comes to plumbing and even I was able to do this with only a couple trips to the local hardware store). The quality does not seem all the great ... but for the price and so far (one I've had and used for almost 2 months, the other almost a month) they work fine and there are no problems. FACTUALLY: It does seem to take a good half hour or more to heat up and re-heat once the hot water is used. It would not in any way be useful as a tank-less water heater since only lukewarm water at best comes out as the tank reheats. Also, I live in Southern California and it is the middle of summer. I don't know how long it will take and it's performance either during the winter when tap water is usually colder or what would happen in colder climates with near freezing water coming into the tank. NOTE: CHECK THE DIMENSIONS CAREFULLY. THE SIX (6) GALLON SIZE IS PRETTY BIG AND ALTHOUGH I DID NOT WANT TO ACTUALLY PLACE UNDER A SINK/VANITY, I DON'T THINK IT WOULD FIT UNDER ANY OF MY AVERAGE/ORDINARY SINKS OR VANITIES. USES: 1. In an extra bathroom with no hot water, it provides enough for a quick but good shower. 2. For a pet bathtub with no access to hot water, it make a GREAT warm bath for my now VERY HAPPY DOG!
Never got to use the product May 29, 2008 R. Ommer (Sedona, AZ.) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
Received the first product but the round cut outs from the manufacturer were not cut correct to accept the pressure relief valve and the stopper plug. Replaement sent quickly; however, it was damaged in shipping. Returned for refund. Customer very good but manuafacter and shipping damange an issue.
Great little heater February 26, 2007 orangejulio (Portland, OR USA) 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
This is our 2nd Ariston heater - the first is a 4 gallon under the kitchen sink. We got this one to sit in our basement bathroom and feed it, the main floor bathroom sink and a future 1/2 bath on the 2nd floor. It just makes so much sense to keep a small amount of hot water ready to use right near the fixture. That way you don't have to waste a bunch of water if you need hot water. These seem very well insulated, so I think that the standby losses are negligible. Our main heater is a gas tankless, and these really help improve the performance for intermittent uses such as washing hands or dishes. I just put this inline with the tankless, so that it can "smooth" out our hot water. The tankless works best for steady uses, such as showers and filling a dishwasher. Adding one of these Aristons gives you the best of all worlds.
