A good value June 8, 2009 Donald L. Buckle (SW Texas) This bench grinder is my fourth major DeWalt toy. So far, I've never been disappointed. DeWalt power tools are definitely worth their premium price.
GOOD AT THE PRICE June 7, 2009 Henry Cargen (SYRACUSE, NY USA) For the price it is a good value. The tool rest is ok but only supported by the side guard, a little shaky but still ok. I don't think any of these grinders come with good stones. Use the supplied ones for rough work and buy a couple of Norton stones they run true from the box. I am satisfied with the tool over all and the smaller diameter motor gives plenty of clearance for longer items. There wer no missing parts or scratches.
It's a solid grinder May 4, 2009 D. durkes I bought this on impulse to sharpen my chisels and plane irons. What an idiot I am - it is much too fast and rough for that kind of work but as a pure and simple grinder is a very well-built machine. I have had no issues with wheel wobble. It is relatively quiet and does exactly what it should - grinds.
Strong grinder April 8, 2009 David Dyess (Millry Ala) Just got this grinder in, and I used it to grind a knife's edge on a 1/4 in flat bar and this grinder never slowed down. I guess the reason I like it so is because I went from a Cummins grinder to a dwalt, So much difference.
Dewalt 8-inch Bench Grinder February 22, 2009 Ford Man Don't buy if you use this grinder in a cold unheated garage or shop. Mine would only hum--would not turn--when the temperature was 10 degrees or lower. It probably will work okay in spring or summer. Main problem---made in China.
