Amazon.com Product Description The DELTA 46-715 9.8 Amp 14-Inch Swing by 40-Inch between Centers 3/4-HP Woodworking Lathe is designed with a convenient 10-position speed change powered by a 0.75 HP, 60 Hz motor. It includes a speed range of 450 to 600 RPM. The cast-iron design of the lathe reduces vibrations for greater accuracy. The pulley includes a 24-position index scale that allows you to indulge in intricate, ornamental detailing, while the spindle comes with 24 lockable positions, great for making precise calculations and cuts. The lathe also includes a cast-iron tool rest measuring 12 inches, a convenient on/off switch positioned above the motor, and a durable steel stand.

Beware of Delta (Black & Decker) products January 28, 2009 Gregory A. Russell (Murphy, NC United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This product became unusable with only limited use. The big problem came with attempts to get new parts. A fast summary = 10 months without use, $350.00 cost of new parts to make usable with only a need for a new pully. This is the last product that I buy from Black & Decker (Delta is owned by them).
Good luck trying to order November 20, 2008 Larry Bailey (Mathis, Tx) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I wish I could give an honest review of this lathe, but I have been unable to order one. I have tried to order on two different sites and have been told that they are no longer available. Still trying to get credit to my account. Buyer beware!
I LIKE IT October 4, 2008 L. Hutchison (missouri) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I WAS just a little bit hesitant to buy this lathe because the reviews were not all positive. I am really glad I did, though, because it is a very good piece of equipment. It was easy to set up, runs quietly, hardly any vibration, and I am thoroughly satisfied. Buy it, you will like it.
switch breaks! April 30, 2008 Charlotte K. Omoto (Palouse) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My father bought this lathe and within weeks the switch broke and he had to wait months for a replacement switch, and then a few months later, the switch broke again, and he is having to wait months for a replacment switch. I am going to look into returning it and getting a different model.
GLAD I PURCHASED IT April 23, 2008 Michael Taylor (Tulsa, OK USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am very pleased with the Delta 46-715 lathe. I've been using it for a month now, and when I say using it I mean it. It has been running trouble free for at least four hours every day for the past month. I started to not choose this lathe due to a hand full of negative reviews here but am very glad that I decided to purchase it. I couldn't imagine that Delta made a problematic product like described in reviews below so I checked with Wood magazine. After downloading their comparison test of six lathes priced under $1000 I discovered that the Delta 46-715 came in second over all and was their choice for best-buy. You have to take negative reviews with a grain of salt. Many can be attributed to malcontents...people that just don't like anything. Not saying that's the case here, unfortunately some flawed products get past quality control. But please don't let one or two bad apples spoil the whole barrel. Read reviews on other sites as well before you make the mistake of passing on a fantastic product like the Delta 46-715
HAPPY TURNING
