I was skeptical when I bought this sander, thinking that it wouldn't last long or it would be too weak and I would have to buy a better one down the line. To my surprise, this sander works great. I thought that I would have to struggle with it due to its small motor size but it just ate through three 12' long oak boards that I glued and pinned together and wanted more.
When I originally looked at this sander I thought "you get what you pay for" and kept looking. After looking at everything else listed, and their prices, my wallet told me to settle for this one. I am glad I did because this little gem is a keeper.
If you are looking for a basic belt sander and don't want to spend a lot money, I highly recommend this sander.

Ordinarily you use a belt sander to remove a fair amount of stock otherwise you would use a random orbital or finish sander. With that goal in mind this sander is underpowered, poorly balanced and just doesn't meet expectations for using this type of sander.

Great power for it's size. Great ergonomics. Light enough for vertical sanding.Superb dust collection.Belt tracking is very good.Very quiet!!! I have owned this model for several years. Mine is made in Japan. Current model is made in England.

This smaller belt sander is a great belt sander. The dust collecter bag works well and it is very easy to remove and empty. The sanding belts can be removed and replaced very quickly and easily. Flat top means you can flip it over and use it as a fixed place sander. It is well built and not as noisy as others. For the price, there is nothing close to it.
