Amazon.com Product Description The Porter-Cable C7550 80 Gallon Oil-Lube Air Compressor offers powerful 5.4 (running) HP and 175 PSI air pressure to run just about any kind of air tool. Air delivery is solid at 90 PSI - 12.9 at 175 PSI SCFM--meaning, less downtime waiting for the compressor to recharge and more time actually using your air tools. The C7550 not only boasts industrial-grade performance, but it also has many features that increase its durability and lifespan. The two-stage, oil lubricated Twin-V cast iron pump greatly increases lifespan and overall reliability, and the pump contains automotive-style pistons, rings, and connecting rods that help to extend the lifespan of the C7550.

great compressor December 5, 2009 Donald Stump (poconos of pennsylvania) Compressor works great. Just what i was looking for at a great price. Compressor came on a earlier date than promissed and without any damage..
Porter-Cable C7550 Review November 6, 2009 S. Slowik Despite reading a few negative reviews about this product and immediate problems buyers had at arrival (arriving w/ broken/missing parts; repetitive piston/cylinder knocking even after warrantied service repair of problem) I decided to purchase it. I ordered from Amazon and only two days later I received a call from trucking company that they already had it at local terminal ready to deliver (unbelievable considering i selected free shipping).
The unit was packed extremely well and when opened was flawless. Got it it wired up, lines connected and fired it up. Has been running flawlessly for a few weeks now and couldn't be happier with its performance and output. If it continues to perform like it has so far....based on the research I did prior to buying I couldn't find anything remotely close in overall value for what I paid ($793 w/free shipping).
Nice unit October 28, 2009 shotgun_fetus (USA NJ) Received my compressor yesterday, nice looking robust and heavy unit worth the money, was shipped rather quickly, packaging was outstanding, ABF freight company one of the best shippers around, one complaint is the my unit had 7 scratches on the front and was retouched with touch up paint probably at factory ,quite obvious, but not enough to refuse shipment though, thats why 4 stars and not 5, havent wired it yet hope my unit doesnt have the rod knock like the other poster's unit did. Will post another on startup, cross your fingers...
So far, shipping was great October 7, 2009 Denver64 I just got this item today and everything looks great. It was wrapped really well and the shipping was very fast. I received a call that it was at the local shipping center and was ready for delivery 6 days after I ordered it. I will update this when I get it hooked up and working.
Great so far September 28, 2009 HBR (Bay Area, CA) Compressor was just delivered a couple of days ago. Arrived in perfect shape without any damage at all and was already full of oil. However, it was missing the globe valve. I wired it and started it up today, it seemed to run fine. It is a little noisy, but is to be expected with a monster-sized compressor like this. It flows a ton of air and could pretty much keep up with a siphon sandblasting rig that I tried, pretty impressive.
It could be something rattling, but I do hear an intermittent clicking/knocking noise from time to time. This is a little alarming due to the negative review stating that these compressors may have a design defect. I will update later when I change the oil and check for metal shavings, etc. So far, compressor seems to be running great.
