I bought this welder to make yard sculptures from 3/16" rod. I was using a Bernz-o-matic MAP/Oxygen brazing torch. Needless to say after buying 4 oxygen cylinders at $9.99 each, it got a bit pricey. I have never welded before and this was very easy to set up and use.
my welds are not pretty, but my decorations are staying together!
Make sure you buy gloves, and a welding helmet. The little face shield that came with it does not offer enough protection.
