Fein Multipurpose Tool November 6, 2009 Anthony L. Giba (Pennsylvania) Great Tool Fein is always the better choice. I compared the customer reports about the other Models that Sears have and Rockwell and no contest.
Good but not worth the price October 18, 2009 Bobby B. Amin (California) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
My wife saw in my eyes the intrigue as I flipping channels and abrubtly stopped on the infomercial for this tool (and I never watch infomercials).... She commented that I should get one, but when the price was revealed, I thought "No Way"... Bless her heart, she bought it for me as a suprise... And its been a suprise ever since... It does work good and has got me out of a few jams... But even after getting over the orginal sticker shock, I continue to be shocked... The blades don't last for anything (and God forbid you hit a nail or something while cutting into wood).... Even under normal non heavy use, I couldn't believe how fast the blades wore... But wait till you have to buy replacements blades for it!!!! Thats when the shock will really hit you...
I don't know how I managed without it! October 13, 2009 B. Bucks (Reading, PA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have been in the construction business for 29 years and I don't know how I managed without this tool. It is solid, powerful and smooth. A friend purchased a Bosch and there is NO comparison. Fein is worth the extra money, even though the blades and accessories are pricey.
Fein Multi Master September 29, 2009 Susan K. Pfautsch (Flushing, NY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I just don't know where to begin. The Fein MultiMaster has unleashed me to be a Fein MultiMonster. I just finished sanding down my old cruddy front door to unreveal some very nice wood. I think I will paint it red too. What an unbelievable transformation. The transformation in me has been incredible as well. I love taking on home improvements jobs like a real pro. This makes the project well worth looking forward to instead of the usual dread. Money well spent. Look out kitchen, here I come.
Too expensive but well worth it. September 16, 2009 C. L. Moore (Houston, TX United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I finally broke down and bought one. It sat around truck in my after playing with it for a while. Then one day, working at a new restaurant, I had to make a hole for the beverage line that the architect forgot to spec. Underneath the back-bar, way up in the corner, a 5" hole was needed. The hole didn't need to be pretty as it would be completely unseen. Through two layers of 3/4" plywood, a 1" space between them, and a layer of 5/8" sheet rock. On the other side of the sheet rock was a 2 x 6 turned flat against the sheet rock. I got my huge Milwaukee with a 5" hole saw out and was on my way when I remembered the Multimaster in the truck. I gladly took the Milwaukee back (not much fun drilling 5" holes with that thing - easy to break a wrist). The electrician who was near laughed when I got the MM out and put a 1" blade on. The blade is only about 2" long but I cut the plywood first, then the sheet rock, and then the 2 x 6. It took almost 10 minutes, much of which was me trying to fit into the space and set up the light to see what I was cutting. It is also great when doing flooring (plunge cutting, cutting the bottom of jambs and trim out of the way, etc.) I am now sold on it and have used it many times cutting things that would have been a real challenge without it. BTW, the electrician now has one too.
And yes, they are too expensive but worth every penny. My only gripe is that the blades are way expensive too. I hope that someone will make blades that will fit it soon. It is noisy and I usually wear ear protection when using it, always when in a tight space.
