Perfect for Political Assassinations August 12, 2009 Jacob Smith (Undisclosed Location, USA) 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
These "Ninja Hand Claw Climbing Tigers Spikes" are designed with the hard-working governmental employee in mind. Although some may doubt their quality of construction or practicality in the real world, I assure any doubtful buyers that these were the deciding factor in many of my recent assignments around the world. When my only escape route took me to a 20ft brick wall, I left my cyanide capsule in my pocket because I had these bad boys strapped to my hands. They work well both in cold weather (northern Russia) and hot weather (Australia) so next time you're called to go anywhere to kill anyone at anytime, make sure to put these "Climbing Tigers Spikes" in your bag!
They work great! May 6, 2009 J. David (OR) These worked a lot better than I initially expected them to. I expected that I would have to make all sorts of heavy modifications, but no, for the most part they worked right out of the box.
There is the problem of the metal "ring" digging into your hand while climbing. This can be alleviated with minimal padding. I'm personally a bit light so I didn't need all that much to keep it from bothering me. Pretty much a pair of gloved with a little foam sewn onto the back did the trick.
Four stars because they work well without changing them, but I needed to buy some gloves to really use them.
There cheap what do you expect? March 24, 2009 Saden Shard (the lost) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you want to buy something that looks cool then get them. They are cheap so don't expect to be climbing 30 feet up a tree or trekking across a mountain. 1st off you don't use stuff like this for those types of actions anyways. If a ninja ever did use these to climb it was only a momentary pull because they help a little but they would have used good technique and not a hand claw to climb a wall or tree.
As for self-defense, the metal going all the way around the hand gives you a good area to fend of any sharp blades and if your good you can uses both hands and catch the blade with the spikes. Also the spikes may not be the sharpest but with a good scrape they will cut skin for sure and I'd wager that, that would be the main use of these devices.
*Note: For those of you wanting to climb tree's. You ideally use your hands very little climbing anything except for balance and maneuvering, everything else is in your core and legs. So do a little research on climbing techniques before you accidentally hurt yourself because free falling from 20+ feet hurts bad. Trust me I have done it and you don't just get up.
great buy! December 10, 2008 Nate Cannon (Texas) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
These things came to me in great condition. The only thing that I think is wrong with the claws is that they don't come very sharp, but I took a chizzle and scraped the tips for about 1 minute on each point and they were very sharp and very effective on climbing trees! Mainly what you need is a good pair of dirt biking gloves or some just regular winter gloves for the metal ring not to hurt your hands while climbing. That's what I use and it works great. I acknowledge you not to listen to the other reviews and make your own opinion. These things are a great pice of work and all it takes is a little bit of muscle!
