My wife witnessed one of the neighbor's cats walk into the coverage area. The cat stopped and shrieked (as cats do) and RAN through the rest of the yard. One of the other cats saw this, became frightened, and ran back to the safety of the neighbors house. The device seems to work, but since the audio frequency is beyond human perception, I don't really know. I paid about $45 for this at a hardware store. I'm glad Amazon has it cheaper. If this works, even for a limited time, I'll be pleased.

I tested this product out on my own animals and they all stayed put to see what I had in my hand . I also placed it near their beds and they slept as before. I did make sure it was on and the red light was on . Now maybe I got a defected unit or all the people who said this thing works are defected ! Jimmer of shy-town

This product was absolutely worthless. It deterred no animals away from our bird feeder. I watched as the raccoon emptied the bird feeder without being bothered in the slightest by the detector.

I read the reviews before I purchased one and was skeptical. I have a raised bed garden about 4' x 7' and the years before I purchased this device rabbits and ground hogs had a feast every summer. The 1st yr I had one unit and still had some problems - I now have one at each end of the bed and either they work great or someone got rid of all the "feasters". I also have had no problem with battery life - I check them daily and when one appears dead I change both batteries - normally 6 - 8 weeks. WORKS FOR ME.

I have used it for more than 6 months. It seems to be working! I dont see dog poop on my front yard any more. We used to have bunny rabbit poop. I dont see them anymore in the area covered by the unit, but I do see them outside of the area - to the sides of the unit. The only problem i see is it is a battery guzzler
