Product Description Stay Away safely and effectively trains your pet to stay off furniture or away from other areas of your home. When your pet is 3 feet away, a motion sensor activates a warning sound and a brief, harmless spray of compressed air to keep your pet away. The

| Customer Reviews: It's the only that's worked! October 22, 2009 L. Ziccardi (Colorado foothills) I love this product. I have two cats, one who will not stay off the counters/stove and I've tried everything: foil, two-sided tape, squirt bottles, and more. But this motion-sensor alarm has finally worked. After just a few times of getting "caught" Oliver now does not go on the counters at all. I have been leaving the canister on the counter without turning in on and just that seems to keep him off. This thing is easy to use and works great for cats!
Thank you! August 31, 2009 old Anita Fan Great product. As soon as it goes off, the cat jumps off the counter where he should not be.
It works December 16, 2008 Toy Buyer (Mesa, AZ USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This particular product emits a sound in addition to the puff of air. I prefer it over my first spray system that only emitted air. Once the cat gets blasted by air a couple times in "no-cat" zones, the sound will usually keep them away if they try again. This saves on the expensive refills. I bought a refill with the system, but doubt I'll use it. My cat is a nervous one, though, so she learned real quick to avoid the protected area.
One difficulty is positioning the motion sensor to keep the cat away, yet to not go off every time a human passes in the vicinity.
seems to work July 27, 2008 Jaw (California) I can't be 100% sure it's working because i only happened to catch the cat on the counter once in a great while, i don't know how often she was doing it or if she's still doing it when no one's around, but we are pretty sure the StayAway caught her at least a few times because she doesn't like it. If she sees it, she wants to get away from it.
I looked at other brands but they weren't much good to me because none of them included the audible alarm, only the spray. StayAway was the only one that had both spray and alarm. I needed the audible alarm so that if she went on the counter when i wasn't in the room, i would hear it. I was glad that at least one company still makes one that has both of these effects.
The spray bottle ran out of spray fairly quickly, but that was ok because after you've used it with the spray a few times, you're supposed to just use the alarm because the cat will associate the sound with the spray and the sound alone will deter the cat. I think in our case this is true. In some reviews of the other major brand, some people said that company probably discontinued the audible alarm on their product in order to force you to keep buying the spray from them. At least that is not a problem with StayAway. the spray isn't needed after the beginning.
The StayAway is very sensitive. If i turn it on and then walk anywhere near it, it will go off. Kind of annoying but i am very glad to have it.
It was easy to set up and is easy to operate, just a little switch on the back for on/off/spray, and point it where you want it to guard.
Entertaining cat training! February 28, 2008 Flying Chesterfield Farm (Middleburg, MD USA) Benefits: very entertaining to be relaxing in a part of the house well away from the kitchen where the StayAway resides, listening to the tone -- psssst -- thump of cats being trained to stay off the counter. No more shouting, lurking, scolding, spraying water, etc. to train the cats. The compressed air, apparently with just a bit of water seems safe. The product is easier to set up and maintain than ScatMat -- just turn it on and off with a little switch. It takes up very little counter space. Very effective and safe.
Drawbacks: Quite expensive, in a multi-cat household (with very bad cats), it doesn't last long. Can't find refills -- I've been waiting months for refill order on Amazon to be fulfilled.
