Barely works October 29, 2009 Riverseow (Texas, USA) I have pigeon problem in the backyard. I put this on. It works for couple of days then they figured it out and do not scare at all. The battery died soon and I do not have energy to change the new battery and just regard it as a decoration in the yard.
Action Owl September 16, 2009 Taylor (Los Gatos, CA USA) Using an owl (with a head that will move) seems to keep destructive birds away. It has kept woodpeckers off our decks and will, I am sure, ward off crows.
aesthetically speaking, this is the cutest owl of the lot August 28, 2009 Beatrice Izzey (Los Angeles) aesthetically speaking, this is the cutest owl of the lot
she's kind of chubby and cuddly looking, with beautiful yellow eyes.
the photo on amazon is from an unflattering angle
I cannot speak as to its scarecrowing ability - i just collect owls because I like them.
Instant Garden Trash June 21, 2009 Mark Milliorn (Las Cruces, NM) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I guess that it's no worse and probably a little better than a garden gnome. Sadly, it won't scare away birds any better than a garden gnome, either. While I haven't seen a bird sit on it, they have walked over to it to inspect it. I have tried multiple locations and the only way it will scare birds is if you throw it at them.
Which may be it's best use.
Disappointed June 20, 2009 Wendy Q. 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I was hoping to keep small birds out of my pool, so I placed this thing nearby and kept moving it around every few days. The head swivels and looks scary enough, but the birds just keep coming back. Now it's just decoration.
