Save your money November 18, 2009 M. Lee (Hawaii of course) Bought this to use with the 'flylady' program. I thought it was perfect because it has a lanyard but I was so wrong. The buttons are not covered so if you bump up against something it changes the time or stops it altogether. Plus the batteries are such a pain to buy because they are not standard sized. I would NOT buy again and until they come up with a better design where the buttons are covered, I will not recommend this to anyone.
Best timer November 16, 2009 Gattofriulano (Seattle, WA USA) Works very well, intuitive to use and the fact that you can carry around the house around your neck makes it much more effective. I own three of them
Polder timer November 7, 2009 S. Slack (Illinois) This is a great timer. The buzzer is long and loud enough. Wearing it around your neck is convenient. My only complaint is that if you accidently bump against something it will stop. However, it does give off 1 beep to let you know.
Too easy to cancel. October 24, 2009 Two Cruisers (Ames, IA) Love the three simultanious functions of this timer, clock and count up instrument. Lavaleir style enhances useablitity. I have a black and a white to wear with different outfits when I go for walks. One annoyance is the set, stop, and cancel buttons can easily be activated. Fortunately there is a warning beep and that gives me an opportunity to reset.
Good for what I need; may not be for everyone October 12, 2009 Magpie (Fort Worth, TX) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I received this as a gift from a friend who knew I was looking for something to time portions of a class. The fact that it can be used to count up and count down is helpful to me. The beep is clear and loud enough for my purpose, and the clock feature comes in handy.
Not thrilled with the button battery and that fact it is always on (because of the clock feature.) I like my electronic kitchen timer in that regard (battery life,) because when it is off, it is off. I haven't changed that AAA battery in two years. The lanyard is nice, the buttons seeem a little small (maybe I just have big fingers) but they are fine as long as you are actually looking at the timer. Don't try to do it by feel!
So....this is a pretty comprehensive timer that will do a lot if you need it to. Since it was a gift, I am really enjoying it. It remains to be seen if I will replace the battery when needed and/or replace it if it breaks.
HINT: since it says not to get it wet, I keep it in a ziplock when using it in the kitchen. You can use it by pressing and viewing right through the baggie, and it prevents spatters on the timer.
