Great Product for a Great Price October 6, 2008

I bought this townhouse last year with a small 4 ft closet in the master bedroom. I wanted an organizer with double hanging heights and extra rack space. Luckily I saw this at amazon and its a perfect fit. It was relatively easy to install. Me and my wife were able to install it in 2 hrs. We were a little unsure about how to use anchors but then eventually were able to figure it out. Material feels light but its strong and is able to hold all the items. Now i'm utilizing all the space and have all my belongings in one closet. I have already recommended it to my friends. Go ahead and buy. You won't regret it.

I bought this for my wife's closet which is very narrow. She had been using a rolling rack which was falling apart.
The product arrived in good condition, nothing was missing or bent. They recommend that the horizontal bar be fixed at 86.5". This probably allows a good height to put in the extender bars Rubbermaid Configurations 25-Inch Upright Extension with Connector, White, #3H93. The vertical bars are 47.5" (plus you can add the 25" extenders to the bottom). If you have height restrictions in your closet, take note. On the other hand, you could probably raise or lower the height for your own needs. The installation can be done by an individual but definitely would have gone faster with two (trying to hold the bars, mark the holes, ensure it's level, all at the same time).
My biggest problem was identifying the studs on our plaster-and-lath walls, even with a stud-finder. Beware that the included toggle bolts (if needed) are only for drywall and specifically not for plaster. I bought some Pop Togglers at the hardware store, so the problem was easily solved. Most of my time was spent finding the studs and getting the horizontal bar up. Once that was finished, it took almost no time to complete.
When hanging the vertical bars, the instructions say that you only need to put a screw in the bottom hole, but they are not entirely clear. I called Rubbermaid (and got through right away), and that is indeed the case. However, the walls in the closet turned out to be bowed, so I went ahead and put another one on each.
All the hanging pieces snapped together easily. I even moved several of them around without any problems.
The clothes went in very easily, everything seems very sturdy, and it looks very good. I would definitely buy this product again.

This closet system is easy to install for my 6ft space. If you have a small closet that has never been redone, this is the way to go. Get rid of that single bar going across your closet and double the amount of hanging and shelf space. Easy to change around as the kids get older and clothes get bigger.
I bought this from Amazon @ 59.99 and no shipping - WHAT A DEAL! This is almost identical to Elpha from the Container store, only much cheaper. I went back and ordered a second one for another closet.
