Great for small spaces, gifts & groceries January 6, 2010 I. Y. Park (los angeles, ca) I bought these for my family's 'white elephant' gift exchange & everyone was fighting over it, so that evening I ordered extra sets for my sisters & brother & gave it to them for Christmas. They really liked it & used them immediately.
I bought 1 bag for myself & it forces me to take the recycles down to the bin sooner rather than letting it pile up. And when I need to, I use it for grocery shopping if I'm just walking to the store.
Great for those without city recycling pickups September 28, 2009 Carolyn D (Houston, TX USA) I'm in Texas, and we still have tons of landfill space, so recycling isn't a priority unless you're in one of our 5 major cities. I'm sure parts of Houston's Harris county does curb-side city recycling, but most of suberbia doesn't. I have a self-recycling center right next to my office, and these leak-proof bags work great. They fit into the trunk of my car much easier than fixed-size tubs. Oh, and they stand up just fine as long as you use the velcrow.
(They'd be better if they came in colors that would blend into the average kitchen color scheme, like marroon or hunter green. The silver looks ok. I don't need my recycling bags to screem "LOOK, I Recycle!" I'd rather the bags blend in and look more like they belong in my kitchen.)
Good idea and I like them but could be better September 27, 2009 T. Popper I've been using these bags for about 2 years now and while I like the flexibility they provide, when the bags are empty they tend to collapse on themselves which is a pain when you're trying to place items in them. You also have to use a liner of sorts, I use a paper bag, especially for co-mingled recyclables since they are almost impossible to wash out.
Recycling made easy June 26, 2009 Mis Trae (Overland Park, KS) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought these for recycling in my house. I like that the bags are covered w/some kind of coating so if there is any water from rinsing the cans out, it won't get the floor wet. I also like that you can replace the pictures on the front w/your own to fit your own need (very helpful with husbands/kids).
Happy Recycling March 15, 2009 Granolamum (Rural, New Hampshire) We don't have curbside recycling, and have to take our recycling to the recycling center at the dump. These make it much easier than our previous system since it allows you to 'pre-sort' when you put item in the bags. The bags are lightweight and well-made. When velcro'd together they stand up on their own. They hold quite a lot - up to three weeks of recycling for us, and are tall enough to keep the cats out of them. I would recommend them.
