Amazon had the best price for the filter I needed. (Why are refrigerator filters so pricey anyway?). It works great, I noticed an increase in the flow rate with the new filter.

These filters are available online at a couple of places. Though I feel the price is ridiculous everywhere, I went for the best price and shipping charge deal. I believe I got it on Amazon. Product is the same as others I have purchased. Whether or not you replace them every 6 mos. as recommended I think depends upon your level of usage, i.e., number of people in family. I go around a year with mine before changing. When the water becomes too slow--that's when I change it.

The 3-pack filter combo included the same Amana filters that are available elsewhere, but the per unit cost was about 30% less. However, I still think that water filters are overpriced, including this 3-pack set. Otherwise I would have rated this set a "5".

Amana WF401S Clean N Clear Refrigerator Water Filter, 1-Pack
This is a great price for these refrigerator water filters. I checked all over town and couldn't find this particular filter at any store other than Sear's. It was less expensive here, and it was a real Amana filter for our Amana refrigerator, not a Kenmore or other brand. You can really save by buying three at a time.
