Second, place EasyBloom in the spot where you would like to grow a plant, or next to the plant that needs monitoring and leave it for 24 hours. Finally, plug EasyBloom back into a USB port--sensor data will upload to the EasyBloom website, which will use that data to either recommend plants or diagnose a plant's problem. So far, it does a good job November 19, 2009 S. Corte (NC, USA) I find mine easy to use. I like the graphs of light, water, humidity, and temperature (over the time that the gadget was recording) that it provides when it downloads the data to the website. The listing of plants in the website database seems a bit erratic and less informative than some books, but I didn't get it for that.
I look forward to using this in spring and summer. It is hard to know, from light readings taken during the fall, how much sun different areas will get in summer. The sun is much lower in the sky and the trees are going leafless. The website keeps a record of your readings (and the date they were taken).
This is a fun gadget. You can also use it indoors. Note that it will not tell you about your soil quality, pH, or nutrient levels.
The Best Plant You'll Ever Buy October 27, 2009 J. J. (CA) The Easy Bloom Plant Sensor is the secret to a virtual green thumb. It is extremely easy to use, and takes the guesswork out of gardening. The online interactivity helps you manage your garden throughout the year. This little space-age-looking flower is well worth the investment.
Easy to Use EasyBloom Sensor September 28, 2009 Mary Hunt (Sutton WV) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
EasyBloom Plant Sensor is easy to set up, has clear instructions, is thorough in its analysis of plant recommendations, sun exposure, water, and location of specific plants. When you want to read the analysis it's pretty funny when people ask you about the flower plugged into the computer, too.
difficult to use September 22, 2009 Terry Eisenstadt (COLORADO SPRINGS, CO) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
harder to use than the instructions say and various soil types throw off the watering reading
Quick to set up if you know plants. September 20, 2009 Paul Stowers (Fort Walton Beach, FL) This is a great product with great support. I just wish their website had more pictures or tools to help you figure out what the plants are in your yard.
