Product Description Every woodworker has experienced a bit that is just a little too short for the job, especially in router table applications or with jigs and templates that eat up the length of standard bits. Here is an easy, inexpensive solution. CMTOs extension fits any 1/2" collet router, accepts 1/2" shank bit and adds 2-1/2" to the bits length.

too far down February 22, 2008 Robert E. Perry (Ark) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have a table mounted plunge router, with a lift. It is a pain to change bits. The extension made it possible to make above table changes. The problem for me was it was too long down the shafts. The router vibrated badly, then it seized up on the plunge shafts ?. The collet was running true, i ran a dial indicator on it. It just moves the router too far down the shafts. Took it off and the lift quit jamming and no vibration. The router is an Hitachi 12MV and i notice the shaft guides are shorter than some brands ??.
No safety instryctions January 9, 2008 Robert E. Roach (Spring, TX) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
As this product will hold a fairly heavy router bit spinning at 16,000 rpm, I would have thought they could have printed the safety instructions in english. Four other languages, but not english.
Excellent November 1, 2007 James Orzech (Danielsville, PA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I had previously purchased an economy unit made in China that had .004 to .006 runout and would cause major vibration when running at 10,000 RPM. This CMT adapter ran smooth even at higher RPM's with very minimal runout.
